Michael Miller Addresses Bear Market Challenges to Endowment Management at the 2009 Fall Conference for Community Foundations conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY, October 1, 2009 - Colonial Consulting, LLC, a leading investment advisor with a core focus on non-profits, announces that Managing Director Michael Miller will be addressing Bear Market Challenges to Endowment Management at the 2009 Fall Conference for Community Foundations conference.

The market crash of 2008 presented significant challenges to the bedrock principles of endowment management. Michael Miller will address key questions, including: Is the endowment model a failure? How much risk should be assumed during a down market? Should an endowment shift to cash and fixed income? Is asset diversification a failed strategy? Miller will also present results and trends from the 鈥2008 Investment Performances and Practices Survey.鈥 Bring questions from your experiences to this session.

Joining Mr. Miller will be Danah C. Craft, Vice President of Programs & Constituency Services for the Council on Foundations and Paul DeMarco, Acting CEO for the Community Foundation of Sonoma County.

The conference takes place in San Antonio, TX, between October 5 and 7. Information regarding the session can be found at the conference web site.
